markblevis.com — I spent 45 minutes on the phone with Apple technical support this evening. While they did not confirm to me that there is a problem, the second-line technician did acknowledge that they are investigating a large number of similar reports.

@riverbelowFreezing and performance issues?Probably unrelated but there is an option to keep it from stopping the harddrive in sleep mode. I used to have freezing and crashing issues prior to enabling the option, apparently unix based systems don't like it when harddrives do that.

Yeah I lost the ability to maintain a connection to my university's PEAP-MSCHAPv2 WLAN, wasn't sure why but I think I know now.

My Software Update is empty... But yeah, sure there was a WWAN update a week or two ago? I install everything, never have any issues.

So because some people don't have a problem with this, there's no problem? What about this guy who is a mac user who is having a problem? Will you just ignore it? Mac users sure do turn on themselves when one of the sheep says that mac's aren't perfect.

I installed it upon release in Feb. and had multiple problems with airport after. My status icon stayed greyed out at all times, when my iMac woke from sleep it lost wifi connection and I had to renew DHCP to reconnect. It was so frustrating I eventually (last week) erased and reinstalled OS X. I haven't installed that update on the clean install and everything is A-OK.I tried the apple discussion forum to no avail.

"by heronstalker 7 hours ago "This is a direct quote from the blog: "Since the patch was applied, I have not been able to maintain an Airport connection on my Mac." How does that make this story not relevant to Wi-Fi?"----------------Yeah, becaues bloggers can never be wrong..... /sarcasm. What that suggests is a corrrelation, not causation, and a correlation with just one datapoint, which is very weak.

The latest update broke my Wifi too the (002) update. It appears in the Apple Forums, that those with Dl-624 and a few Berkley models of Routers with WPA encryption have the most problems. Turning WPA off or dropping to WEP 64bit usually fixes the broken connection. Should we have to drop our security or Apple make us another patch quick! This repair does not work for me on my WPA encryption network it only works with security off. Same thing logs in to network. Pops up the window- "There was an error joining the Airport network "my network name here". Then offers Try again or OK, click OK then after a few seconds the Airport signal strength fades away. The only way it will login in is if I turn WPA off in my Dl-624 router.
