When you consult a science fiction writer to write the law, you know it's really not relevant for today's world...

Legislate my ability to do cruel sadistic things to my sexbot in the future?

I've heard some people argue that many definitions of a robot would include cars - especially more modern cars, or cars in the future, which are more automated and need to make decisions. However, these are very unregulated in their use. They certainly don't respect, say, the three laws of robotics. The wikipedia article on Car accident ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Car_accident ) says that about 1.2 million people are killed annually by cars.Good luck regulating them though. People want to do what they want to do. You can pry the steering wheel from their cold, dead hands.

Does this mean no sex-bots?I kid!...but not really.

@dpack1Precisely correct. Humanity must be modified. And the only way that will happen is when machine and human hybridize. Only then can we eliminate the worst human traits: fear, selfishness and greed.

What if I make a robot that looks and behaves like an 8-year old child?

If we don't have any, people will be having sex with robots and the robots could take over the world as seen in the Terminator movies.
