physorg.com — Four race cars barrel down a virtual track, jostling for position. Announcers shout their commentary over growling engines until a winner speeds past a checkered flag. The frenetic race televised on DirecTV wasn't a NASCAR event. It was staged as part of a new video game league that aims to turn gaming into a full-fledged sport

A few things that they could do to hold my attention -Only air clipped edited versions of the highlights of the game. No live events. -Use knowledgeable commentators with some f'n (yeah i said f'n) personality -Quick John Madden type play by plays with telestrator -Brief explanation of the game for new viewers -Bring in the typical skinny chick that has a passive understanding of games (she played bejeweled on her phone) that occassionally says something... cough... g4

We live in an age where ESPN (not ESPN2 or ESPN 8 "the Ocho") aired a bunch of people eating hotdogs. So yes, I think there's room for people playing video games on TV. I may not watch it, but it should be there.

To most of the hardcore competitive gaming community, CGS is a COMPLETE joke. The games, the rules, the retarded jerseys and shoutcasters, it's all HORRIBLE.I swear, the real tournaments such as WCG, ESWC, Gamegune, Dreamhack, WSVG, and others are so much better to watch. Though you'll have to either get on the games TV (Such as HLTV) or a lot of the time there will be a live stream. (TSNCentral.com/Gotfrag.com/ESreality.com)
