img433.imageshack.us — I took this screen-shot a few minutes ago. It's not been doctored at all, there are not 1 but 3 annoying flash ads in view. I haven't seen this on any other computer, my first instinct was ad-ware, but a scan showed nothing. Who's got the scoop?

Use HostsMan to block ads and manage hosts file + eDexter to make adless pages look good. It's been working for me for over 1 year now. I've only seen one ad in all that time, and that was some sort of iframe thingy (scared the begeesus out of me).

Nothing wrong with adverts- money makes the world go around. You really think that the likes of Digg should provide you with your entertainment for no other reason than brotherly love? They will provide a higher quality service if they have a vested interest- .ie. making profit! If you like the site, support it. Don't be a total freeloader. And for you Flash haters out there- Flash banners, if designed correctly use less bandwidth than their gif counterparts. Vector graphics are tiny compared to raster based graphics.

@screenshotTabs are wonderful because I can have many windows open _and_ many web pages open without cluttering my taskbar. If you really want that extra bit of real estate, try full screen mode. Also make sure you're using a streamlined browser theme, a minimalized taskbar (boo XP theme!), small icons, etc. for maximum browsing space.Besides... few web pages I know of actually fit inside of the window. I almost always have to scroll down, regardless of available real estate.

advanced configuration of the Opera Ad-Block feature. Have not seen an ad since.
