franticindustries.com — After removing the top user list, Digg has taken additional measures against identifying top Digg users, together with some cosmetic changes to Digg’s interface. Before, the number of stories promoted to the front page was visible next to the user names in the ‘Who dugg or blogged this story’ section. Now it’s gone!

I was wondering what blog was going to point this out first.I wasn't going to complain too much when Digg removed the top digger list. But this seems like it's going to far. I have no context for my OWN profile now. Am I a good social bookmarker? I don't know -- I have no way to compare myself to anyone. It's one thing to try and fight spam and gamming. But this takes away something completetly different from the Digg interface.

Digg simply will never be the same. Social bookmarking without the social, Sad

"Social bookmarking without the social, Sad"I say social bookmarking without the hierarchical layout. Everyone on even playing field.(And before you comment on "where is the motivation now?": the motivation is sharing good information...which should help limit the amount of garbage submissions)

I'm glad they are implementing these changes. The old way made it almost impossible for someone like me (relatively new to Digg) to submit a story and have it become popular. I've submitted one story and probably won't bother with any more because I know, even if it's a great story, it won't get Dugg. Later on, however, a more popular Digger will submit the same story and it will hit the front page in a matter of hours.
