computers.net — Digg today released new features while silently removing at least one. If you check out your friends section, you'll notice that friends are no longer broken up into friends you've befriended and friends that have befriended you. This is probably a minor loss even if I'm curious as to the reasoning of removing a social aspect of a social site.

I agree. While the social aspect of digg is cool, I never use it. I just want to stay up to date on news.

Wow, I just checked, and apparently I've had 40 people befriend me... Who are you people, and why am I so popular?

K, it's just me, but why does Digg need front page stories to tell us what we're seeing on Digg? Bury away, hypocrites.

I would like to see my comments highlighted so when I look to see if someone replied to me I don't have to CMD-F in a long thread.

I actually really liked being able to see the people who had befriended me simply because I don't know anyone else who uses digg. I took those who befriended me, and befriended them and I've gotten much more out of the site since.

Digg could probably integrate some kind of instant messaging into the comments section of each story. This way, people could meet each other and discuss the comments in real time, rather than commenting, and slowly waiting for a reply. Its like the story between email and instant messaging. Email has become snail mail, and in a sense, comments have too.

I've never gotten anything other than automated responses from digg's contact email addresses.

Why can't they just put in forums? from the amount of comments this community clearly loves to interact(yelling insulting and the occasional well formed sentence.). So ya just give us a place to go yell at each other and meet people who's opinions match ours so we can get some use out of the friends feature
