theseoblogger.com — Thousands of LiveJournal users are rebelling against LJ deletions of hundreds of sex-themed discussion posts and community groups PLUS countless accounts of its users, a massacre that includes to the deletion of literary critiques and fan-written fiction about "Harry Potter". The headline misses the REAL meat of the story. This isn't about some Harry Potter / Draco slash fic being deleted.<a class="user" href="http://digg.com/tech_news/LiveJournal_deletes_hundreds_of_illegal_rape_survivor_LGBTQ_communities">http://digg.com/tech_news/LiveJournal_deletes_hundreds_of_illegal_rape_survivor_LGBTQ_communities</a>"LiveJournal deleted all journals containing "illegal" key-words in the journal or community interests. Rape-survivor and incest-survivor groups, BSDM groups, and Lolita (the book) literary groups disappeared, along with hundreds of personal journals. Users are (predictably) outraged."LiveJournal decided to delete groups for survivors of sexual abuse to "Protect the Children."Something tells me I won't be renewing my paid LJ membership.Anyone else remember when AOL, at the height of their popularity, banned searches that contained the word "Breast" only to effectively shut down all Breast Cancer related AOL groups in the process?

Well, you've got to know that if you create somethings, it can be used in two ways, either good or bad, just like a knife which can be used to save life (by doctors) or can take away life. *Also, I'm not sure whether you talk about this digg headline, "Digg Revolted...", or the 'added' description below the headline, where it says "...a massacre that INCLUDES to the deletion of literary critiques and fan-written fiction about 'Harry Potter'."BTW--This is the first time I've seen a company not value their customers outright =(. I mean, at least give them a warning so they/customers can delete/clean up the posts/accounts? Again, a discussion about 'sex-themed' subject, which can be rattling in the eyes of the NSFW/NSFC (Not Safe For Children) fanatics. But think of the self-help groups of survivors of sexual abuse, whilst it might be an assumption, I think the groups exist to help each other cope with the 'sex-themed' discussion....Again, the knife example...Wow. I just check LiveJournal seems to be down at the moment (might be due to the Diggers :). Hhehehe, I think someone already started the revolt!!! (Trying to keep LJ offline for a day or two?)
