blog.cameronhermens.com — I've never before witnessed the Digg community at large behave so passionately. Although the HD-DVD AACS processing key may only seem like a number, we're really fighting for our freedom of speech in a way.

This isn't about taking down the key, its about taking down posts about taking down the key. There was no legal liability involved with a thread going "where did that huge story go?"The key has just become the battle-cry of those outraged about that censorship.

Can we please call a cease fire from both sides? I think we have their attention so let's communicate. Can we please stop burying other stories and just digg this one. Bury every comment with the key and just use this one to communicate with the admins. Let us say what we want and don't delete this post. This isn't about the key any more. To be fair, censorship has always happened before on Digg and we abided by that. Certain objectionable content has always been deleted. The difference is that this time most of us don't agree that a number can be or should be censored. Then again, isn't every file just a very long number? Where do we draw the line?

"Now we know for a fact that digg is not about the people run by the people. Digg admins feel no shame in bringing down the admin hammer against anyone who even speaks out against digg, Many users were banned just for talking about the censorship, many stories were removed before they even had a chance to start, just because they spoke ill of digg. and even more, numerous stories got suspiciously buried despite the fact that they would currently be some of the most popular on digg's front page. (all not mentioning the number, just talking about the take down of the second most popular story on digg.09 F9 11 02 9D 74 E3 5B D8 41 56 C5 63 56 88 C0

This is sorta what happened at the Big Day Out (Australia's biggest music festival) this year. The organisers issued a warning against bringing flags along and everyone turned into a flag waving retard.

Your parents should pay more attention to your internet habits. (Unless they are too busy getting stoned to care....) Grow up and use these skills to earn a check instead of stealing what you have no right to. Crackers can evolve into hackers or Network Security Admin's/Consultants and etc. I am living proof. Just remember to grow up before you get busted.
