From the article: "Instead of submitting stories for review by the larger Digg community, users will be able to send—"shout" in Digg terms—story links along with messages to particular Digg friends. Friends, or small groups of friends, also will be able to chat or discuss stories on their personal pages with posts to a message board, a feature akin to the "wall" on Facebook."I hate to exaggerate, but this seems like the death of Digg. I don't mind adding user interaction, but preventing stories from being dugg, if that is what is happening today, doesn't make any sense to me. I rely on Digg for interesting and important news.

Digg is a good place to get a wide-ranging view of a topic, and sometimes (sadly, not often enough) get even better or more accurate info than from the story itself. Especially when it comes to heavily propagandized and censored news topics like Iraq.
