There already are user rankings. They are updated daily based on you user stats (mainly stories submitted that have hit front page and how many people have viewed your profile).Click on your "Profile + History" link on the top left of the page, then click on the "Profile + Settings" tab. Your overall ranking will be on the right side.
Jay's contributions to the Internet are not well understood. As the founder (along with Al Avery) and chief architect, evangelist and father of Equinix, the Internet is a better place for all of us because of Jay. Equinix is the gold standard for Internet hosting, peering and physical security. Every Internet presence that matters is there. It's a virtual monopoly from that standpoint.
