walletpop.com — A reader wrote in about an odd problem with a blow dryer purchased on Amazon.com. In her quest to find the serial number to register the warranty she realized there wasn't one to be found -- hence no way to register the product. And upon further review, she wasn't the only one with this problem. Other purchasers raised the same issue.

I bet you're wrong... there is always someone who would pay that much for it. Not me. I've never paid more than 19.99 for one. :-)

For some of us, no hair dryer = frizzy awful disaster.

Plenty of women I've known will pay that. Salons will pay a lot more. The cheap ones won't accept adapters like diffusers etc. (I know that I know way too much about this s**t, and I dry with a towel).

How dare their poor asses start making demands. Beggars can't be choosers.

If it is refurbed, Amazon has an obligation to let the consumer know. So even if it is, they're still doing something shady.

Like any mechanic shouldn't pay more than $.99 for a socket at the dollar store? Anyone who works with the tools for a living is willing to pay more for higher quality merchandise. And if you can get that same quality at a better price, you usually go for it!
