gizmodo.com— Yes and no. It was an obvious con to get hits, but there is an element of truth in what he said. There is an iPhone being released today. A VoiP phone called iPhone, but it's not from Apple.

I say BRAVO GIZMODO! Point well made. Frankly, anyone who is angry with Gizmodo is simply upset at being duped. If anything, this can be used to provide insight into why we were tricked in the first place. Could it be an unhealthy obsession with expensive inanimate objects? How about we stop worrying about this ridiculous apple phone and all go out for a nice walk. Condescending? –You bet!
"Did Gizmodo trick us all with the Monday iPhone release date?"If you actually look at the thread, no. No one fell for that BS. Except for a few Mac fanboys who are waay beyond help.
"Only a very small minority of the truly stupid are upset at being duped here. What irritates the rest of us is that Brian Lam clearly *intended* to dupe his readers on Friday and then come back on Monday to mock them for being duped while disclaiming any intention to dupe them. That shows clear disrespect for Gizmodo's readership and immaturity on the part of Lam."That's just Gizmodo doing a CYA. A rather tacky CYA though. They used the fanboys for page views. They dumped them when the s**te hit the fan. Now they will reap the full brunt of the fanboy storm.
Isn't it a little ironic that LinkSys, a company who does not provide support for Apple products with their routers produces an iPhone? I for one will NEVER even consider buying one of those crappy phones, even if it sucks half as much as any of their routers.

LinkSys products don't work with Macs? That'll be a surprise to my LinkSys wireless router and cable modem
