thinkprogress.org — In August 2007, journalist Jane Mayer reported in the New Yorker that a highly confidential report by the International Committee of the Red Cross had found that interrogation methods used in CIA detention facilities were ?tantamount to torture.? Bush said in a news conference that he hadn't seen the report. Now a new book contradicts that.

What gets me is how we could impeach Clinton for a lie, but even Bush's small lies (no pun) don't get the same treatment?

Wow, who knew. Opinions expressed at thinkprogress.org are tantamount to thought without the complication of fact. Look at JFK's responses to the Bay of Pigs, Johnson's falsified Gulf of Tonkin incident (how many lives did that cost us? 14 times as many as Iraq.) The whole "do you remember when you saw, heard or did something" is just a Congressional continuation of HUAC applied to opposing political views. Whose the McCarthyite now?
