news.opensuse.org — The openSUSE Project is happy to announce that openSUSE 11.1 RC 1 is now available. If all goes well, this will be the last testing release before the final 11.1 public release on December 18th. This release includes a number of bug fixes and changes since 11.1 beta 5, as well as a new license.

BETA 5 was buggy -- I hope this RC is actually more stable. KDE 4.1 is also a big step up from previous KDE 4

The main reason I like OpenSUSE's KDE 4.1 is that it includes 4.2's option to use folder view as the entire desktop. I.e. an old fashioned, KDE 3.5 desktop. Plus, you can still stick plasmoids all over it, so it's the best of both worlds.

Thank you captain obvious, so we can deduce from your insightful comments that a beta release was beta quality, and that KDE 4.1 is better than KDE 4.0Who would have thought?
