ehow.com — While there are many different manufactuers of anti-virus software available on on market, many require a subsciption or license fee. It is true that there are some choices for free software, but my favorite is the AVG free edition.

Logged in to dig you up. I've also found Avast superior to AVG in my own experiences. I liked the free version of Avast so much I purchased Avast 4 Pro with a 2-year subscription. I suppose I could've stuck with the free version, but I'd rather support the Avast team for doing a good job.
