Hangly, I almost completely agree with you. The only problem is that the rest of the country will not experience any psychological effect because they won't hear about it. None of the mainstream media will even touch a story on anyone locked up for protesting, unfortunately.

The state is not non-violent, it functions entirely by way of violence. Every one of its arbitrary dictates is enforced by, and all of its funding comes from, threats and use of violence on a massive scale, so any talk of non-violence towards the state, as anything more than a mere tactical consideration, is foolish and wholly unwarranted. Self-defense doesn't magically become wrong because your attacker is wearing a clownsuit.
