There are also better ways to fund governments than a national sales tax! Printing money from the treasury instead of the federal reserve (something Dr. Paul supports, by the way this is the same economic system endorsed by such notables as Abraham Lincoln, John F. Kennedy, and James Garfield, the only three U.S. Presidents in history to be assassinated but that's another story...)and using it directly instead of having the government loan money (with interest!) from the federal reserve is one such method. The economic system I'm advocating (Thomas Edison also was in favor of such a system by the way) is the same in substance as the double tally stick system under which the British Empire expanded across the globe, and it is currently in use on a small island called Guernsey off the coast of England and France. Instead of taxing my labor directly this system #1 creates a product or service when the money is input into the economy when a government spends money which causes a bit of inflation (don't be scared of that little bit of inflation it's nothing compared to the inflation created by private banks under our current fractional reserve system) and #2 allows government (i.e. taxpayers) to save big time on interest they would have paid on loans. So indirectly my dollar becomes worth a tiny fraction of a cent less every time the government spends a dollar but at the same time theoretically economy is being enriched by the product or service whoever the government pays is providing and this effect will more than make up for the lost buying power (not to mention the reduction in taxes which this system allows which will further stimulate the economy).Take as an example the island of Guernsey, in the early 1800's they wanted to build a marketplace to improve their economy but nobody wanted more taxes so someone came up with the idea to print money and declare that taxes must be paid in that money. The marketplace was built and it improved the economy without the burden of direct taxes, the system has remained in place for nearly two hundred years (by the way the double tally stick system was in place for 862 years the longest run of any currency on the planet). Anyway please study history they don't teach everything in school!

Dude, only socialists complain that they aren't communists, when everyone else knows they are. I did like 1 Google search for "socialism communism individualism" and immediately came back with a SLEW of pages talking about it... Much like this onehttp://books.google.com/books?id=vpGeM0MpeeAC&pg=P ...I understand your desire not to be painted along with the standard rule of the mill murdering communists, but the only real difference between the two is the speed that the program is implemented. Socialists is just gradual communism, but they both aim for the same target -- subordination of the individual to the masses.

All polls are meaningless, because in the end votes are counted on Diebold machines :)

Did anyone else find it strange that Ron Paul won the Straw Poll, and yet the morons at MSNBC dedicate the piece to Romney? WTF???

Also, keep in mind that media persons can donate millions of dollars in advertisement (such as Oprah for Obama's sake.) Compare this to the wealthy software developer that would've (before the campaign cash reform) contributed $10,000 to someone. The reform made the system even less balanced. We went from having all of the rich donating tons to only the rich with connection donating tons.
