I avoided looking at the thumb in case I figured it out. Yea as I get older I just cannot handle stuff like this when people get hurt. Jackass stuff is easy cus no one really gets hurt.
Never made the claim that they were getting in the way. Just saying give real credit where credit was due. It's like when the Pope got shot in the early eighties. He claimed that the Virgin Mary guided the bullet so it wouldn't kill him...but in fact it WOULD have killed him if not for the hours of emergency surgery performed on him by a team of highly skilled surgeons. If people pray in a situation like this for their own edification that's one thing, but it's not going to help heal him.
I am giving credit where credit is due. Your example of the pope being shot is kind of a generalized comment grouping all religions together, I'm not catholic, I don't think Mary does anything, she was just a girl who was favored by God, and used to bring the Saviour to earth. (anyhoo enough with my Christmas day rant about Mary) I have seen prayer work first hand, I saw a man (a close friend) lay on a table in a coma, dying of flesh eating disease, after doctors tried all they could, they said he will not last though the night. That was 7 days before Christmas 2 years ago, on the evening of Christmas Eve he woke up from the coma, CHRISTMAS EVE! no trace was left of the disease they were so sure would kill him, they also said after he awoke that he would never hear from his right ear ever again (because the disease had eaten away, completely his ear drum and canal, 2 weeks later he could hear out of that ear. Why? because God chose to use this miracle to show how well prayer works, Merry Christmas.
I can't believe the TV announcers just thought he twisted his ankle, and that it took them around 5 seconds to even notice a player down on the ground with his leg bent sideways.

That was definitely just a yell every basketball player does when they jump up for a rebound or a shot. Very common

Because you're not supposed to show graphic footage of injuries on TV. They had to cut away to something.
