ted:>The Republicans were doing well, the economy is going great, Actually real wages are down, the savings rate is negative for the first time since the great depression, and if Clinton had matched Bush's "great" market growth the DOW would be around 4000 right now.>low taxes, The low monthly payments are because we're putting it on the national credit card. In other words, you're being subsidized by your children.>and no terrorist attacks since 9/11. Well that's just silly. Remember the anthrax attacks? How about the attacks on our embassy from last month? >The American people are idiots, and will suffer greatly these next two years.Uhhh... okay. They keep electing Republicans, so I can't argue. As for the actual topic of the article, they're wanting to do wild and crazy things like get proper standardized radios in the hands of first responders. It's been five years -- why didn't the Republicans do this before now?
Lets see1) No fix for a broken Social Security system2) Spending out of control on "Bridges to No where"3) President uses his one veto for what? Stem Cell?4) A new Government freebie called "Free drugs" that no-one even asked for.The Dem's ran from their base (the wacky left) to the middle, the Rep's ran from their base (The middle) to the far rightGuess who won
Okay, honestly, it's not like "the damage has been done, we can't undue this much paperwork." . . . the dems are in control now so we should see a COMPLETE improvement. Dems promised only a few things: get us out of Iraq and implement ALL of the 9-11 findings. I'm pretty sure they can do at LEAST that much. Probably more.
Shintareason is not acceptable. You should know that, this is digg and not slashdotScience H. Logic, we have a reasonable person, lets start an angry mob!/sarcasm//slashy slashy///wait, this isnt fark
I agree. In two years, the Republicans will (hopefully) get back to true conservatism and take back control. It will be fun to watch the democrats implode. How funny people are to think that the great military minds in the democratic party are going to come up with some "better" plan than Bush had. Lets see---your choices are more troops or less troops. Pulling out immediately isn't really an option and the democrats know it. Lets see them tapdance around that one---no more its all Bush's fault since they are in control now. I am guessing they will deflect the Iraq issue as much as possible and try to blow minor issues out of porportions to give the appearance of taking the country "in a new direction" but really not doing anything. What a complete snow job they did on the American people.
