Perhaps you might checkout Ubuntu Ultimate Edition, which comes with all the proprietary multimedia enhancements preloaded, check it out here:http://ultimateedition.info/ultimate-edition-20or here:http://news.softpedia.com/news/Ubuntu-Ultimate-Edi ...The regular Ubuntu version doesn't load the proprietary stuff by default because then it wouldn't be compliant with the GPL free software license. But, Ubuntu does have a helper application to automatically install proprietary codecs after the user confirms it.Also, it's very important to check back on GNU/Linux often(every few months), because it is so rapidly changing for the better. Whereas windows takes years to make significant improvements to the Operating System, GNU/Linux only takes months. This is where the philosophy GNU/Linux (enabling humans with technology) is able to make it the most sensible choice for an Operating System.GO GNU/Linux!!! Stop the tax!!!

@Bicep: None of that will actually solve the problem for iTunes sync'ing. One of These has to happen :A) WINE's needs full USB support and iFuse/libiphone needs to be in the repositories http://matt.colyer.name/projects/iphone-linux/inde ... . Also his full PPA https://launchpad.net/~jonabeck/+archive/ppaB) Apple ports iTunes to Linux, which considering they have Windows + Mac support shouldn't be hard to accomplish.
