wired.com — Hintjens, the CEO of iMatix, has launched the Capsoff organization in a campaign urging hardware manufacturers to ditch the oft-abused and misused key. Hintjens' plan is to build the entire infrastructure for the movement using only freely available tools from Google. He's already set up a Blogger Capsoff blog and a forum at Google Groups.

They should replace it with an 'any' key.

Funny you mention writing in all uppercase letters, when I hand write something I write in all uppercase. It is just easier for most people to read my hand writing. But it is the opposite for typed text. IMHO.

I figured I'd get buried lol. Where is the sense of decency and honor these days?I'll repeat it: http://digg.com/hardware/War_Declared_on_Caps_Lock_Key(and probably get buried again lmao)

I remapped Caps Lock to multimedia key by KeyTweak. Now I use it for start/pause music from Winamp or Foobar2000. Maybe not too useful, but still more useful than Caps Lock itself

I think if people digg this, it doesn't mean they want caps lock banned, they just digg the "news" aspect of it. It was in some English newspapers yesterday, I read it in the Independent. So I dugg it here, even though I'm against it.Ban Comic Sans, indeed...
