thebudgetgraph.com — What started on deviantART 2 years ago has turned into a monolith of data. This is the federal discretionary budget. Your federal income taxes at work. You paid for part of everything in this graph whether you like it or not. Here you will find the graph itself, supporting information, forums, and lots more to help you get your head around it all.

That is amazingly awesome and terrible. Now we need a graph that displays how 50% of our money ends up in the governments hands (federal, state, local, transportation, sales, SS (oh, we all know they are dipping their fingers in the candy jar), etc. etc.)68% on the military...when everyone else does just fine on an amazingly small fraction of that dollar amount...Excuse me, I believe I am going to be sick...

This poster is indeed an amazing and admirable undertaking. This is why I support the FairTax. Just as this poster shows federal spending in an easy-to-grasp form, the FairTax exposes the cost of the federal government in a way that cannot be avoided, the way it is avoided today with corporate taxes embedded in the cost of everything.
