engadget.com — We know things haven't really been going your way lately, but we want you to know that we haven't given up on you, even though it might seem like the only smartphone anyone wants to talk about these days is the iPhone.

So right, so right. As a 650 owner I don't know what to upgrade to, Palm isn't showing something compelling in Europe. Besides all my friends laughs at my clunky phone...I reply that is a useful tool but that doesn't help a lot anymore. Since there are sexier useful tools nowadays.

I was a big-time Palm partisan back in the day, but these days the company has become a dead man walking. It's just a matter of time before they fade away entirely. What a waste.

Some of the changes mentioned in the article would only help them catch up to the competition.Speaking of competition, are they trying to compete with Blackberry, Apple, Windows Mobile, or Motorola? Palm needs to develop innovative products in both hardware and software. That is a pretty obvious statement but keep in mind Palm is the company that released the Foleo.

Sure, in that they're telling them to INNOVATE, or did you miss that part (the entire thrust of their open letter)?

They're still making PDA's, those things seem pretty useless now. I do see some occasionally though.

Absolutely agree with the article! I own a Treo 650 and cannot wait to replace it an iPhone. It is very sad that Palm platform has stagnated for the last 3-4 years.
