politico.com — NBC News plans to name David Gregory as moderator of ?Meet the Press,? infusing one of television?s most-prized franchises with a sharp edge leavened by a youthful style and versatility, according to network executives. As NBC?s chief White House correspondent, Gregory has been a dogged and occasionally prickly questioner.

Another liberal...and this one has a wife who was a part of the lead legal council at Fannie Mae. Hmmm, guess we'll NEVER see any serious investigation of these institutions that should see a few folks heading to jail...just as with Enron. Last week on MEET THE PRESS we had Tom Brokaw let go unquestioned Ted Turner comparing the Soviet Union's KGB (torture/murder/intimidation) with the United States FBI. Typical liberal elitist like Brokaw to let that remark go unchallenged and more of the same ahead with liberal Gregory. what a travesty.

Well I replied to something else first, sue me. I thought it best to read your stuff before commenting. I guess that is not acceptable to you. And you are just saying the glass is half full while Olberman is saying it's half empty. I also would not call it just a request to increase funds as the proposed increase was already approved by the legislature. I guess the real question is why the legislature(lots of elected officials) approved 550k for the special Olympics while she(only herself) only approved of 275k. It really doesn't sound like she is an advocate for the special Olympics. And look at some of the other things she cut. A bill for transparency in government(kinda funny since she campaigned on Obama's old idea of putting the budget online), funds for family education, funds for youth services, girl scouts, lots of school related stuff(Oddly it seems she vetoed anything that had to do with improving school security or safety), etc. You may think that since she is a religious "conservative" she should be cutting things. But just skimming through she seemed to allow one school to buy new drama equipment, but denied another school new sports equipment to replace unsafe equipment. It looks like she approved funds based on the town the money was going to. Not what the funds were paying for. And she didn't veto a single military related item. 9.5 million to the state's homeland security. 9.5 million dollars to an organization that didn't exist 8 years ago that isn't even needed.

You did not prove it wrong. Palin crossed out the 550k that was already approved by the legislature and wrote in a number that was 275k lower. That is a cut. And on top of it, the higher number was created by the legislature. The governor only has the power to take away from the budget with her veto, not to add anything. So it is technically impossible for her to increase anything. But fine, go ahead and call Olbermann a liar. It's just odd that you are claiming she increased something when the powers of her job do not allow for her to increase anything.

Not unexpected, but a terrible choice. Gregory is a two dimensional, attack dog and does not have the pragmatic nuance that Russert had.Just goes to show that NBC News does not have a deep news bench and should of gone outside the box. For instance, Bob Costas would have been a brilliant choice. Interviewing all of those heads of state during the Olympics showed me that the man has the chops for this sort of thing. It will be sad to see such a venerable show MSNBCified

God, this used to be one of the best shows on television. Gregory absolutely SUCKS. Is he a rabid Republican or is he just another mindless parrot? He won't even let his guests finish their calm answers to his insipid, unanswerable questions. Bye bye, David...
