huffingtonpost.com— Jon Stewart began his show last night by skewering CNN for fact checking an SNL skit. But letting politicians lie about statistics and never fact check them.

I understood the original question as "if SNL has been doing this for 35 years, why are all the news network talking about it NOW?"my point is that only after the Sarah Palin sketch did I start hearing about this so-called "political influence" of SNL. and I think that is why CNN is bothering, now, to "fact check" a SNL sketch
Exactly. Hey, if they checked everything people said against facts, I'd be fine with them fact-checking an SNL skit for a few minutes. As I said earlier:STOP LEAVING IT THERE, CNN
They "tweeted" about it too. Here's the direct quote:"Daily Show having some fun at our expense this week: http://www.thedailyshow.com/" (They linked to the main page instead of the actual video.) I was annoyed that they weren't getting the message.STOP LEAVING IT THERE, DAMN IT

CNN is better than MSNBC or Fox. Not by a lot, though. And the BBC and Reuters crap on all three of them.

Hey what's the first rule of mass media? Give the people what they want.
