AA is a joke. Nothing would make an alcoholic want to pound booze quicker than being in a room full of other alcoholics sobbing about how alcohol has ruined their life.I was shooting pool the other day (not drinking because I am too broke to waste $6 on a s**tty drink), and a drunk there was stumbling everywhere but able to form punctuated sentences consisting of a couple slurred words and may have had a mancrush on my friend who was nice enough to kick his ass at pool. What little we could make out translated as he was going to AA and it was working great. I think he was going to a meeting later that night.

From the article itself: "Charged with one of the highest drink driving readings..."What. Is that the same as a BAC level, or did he just get the high score?

This isn't even close to the highest recorded DUI BAC. Highest is .976.<a class="user" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blood_alcohol_content#Highest_recorded_blood_alcohol_level.2Fcontent" rel="nofollow">http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blood_alcohol_content ...</a>
