arstechnica.com — The bad dream of DRM continues. Yahoo e-mailed its Yahoo! Music Store customers yesterday, tell them it will be closing for good?and the company will take its DRM license key servers offline on September 30, 2008.

Actually I know they do, I often get a chance to speak with the bands after / before the concerts. Perhaps you should only speak to things you know about. It makes you look like a dolt.

Aaaaah Yea! What he's getting at is the quality of the disk itself wears out due to use. This is surely planned into the marketing strategy to keep customers from buying only 1 good quality, not so easily scratched disk. After buying so many of the same thing he said "f**k it" and downloaded. He should have ripped it to the hard drive though.

Honestly finding a program to crack the DRM isn't that hard. Use Google it's your friend.

I'll been honest, I don't hear anyone praising Apple for offering DRM crap. Only the ton of people fawning over the iPhone.

And this is the reason why p2p exists in the first place.

I used MusicMatch Jukebox since the 90's and loved it- it was the best jukebox program out there (even early iPods came with MusicMatch software before the iTunes Store went online). Then Yahoo bought MusicMatch, shut it down, and replaced it with their own awful jukebox. Now Yahoo abandons online music altogether. Yahoo had no understanding of online music, and, in the process, destroyed a great app used by millions. For a company that could do no wrong a decade ago, lately it seems Yahoo can do no right.
