he is a Republican, I assume. But he issued some scathing reports during his tenure, one of which was the firing of U.S. attorneys for political reasons and recommended a criminal investigation, which believe it or not is still underway. So he is not what I would call a "loyal Bushie."

Bill O'Reilly continues to use his show on the Faux “News” channel for a sick agenda, as a TORTURE APOLOGIST and GOP shill.I encourage people to look up the number of their LOCAL Fox station... THEN CALL AND TELL THEM that their parent/affiliate company is committing horrendous acts by trying to excuse both TORTURE and the approval of the TORTURE of prisoners by Bush and his gang. One such number is for the Fox-owned station in Washington, DC, WTTG:202-895-3000Please spread the word.

that was my impression as well, based on his reports, which seemed very impartial. he may be one of the few left who have maintained integrity. I was shocked when I read his reports last spring, because I assumed he would blow off the problems, but he didn't. I remember that investigation that is still underway -- what's so sad is that it takes so long to investigate these things.
