The guy is a scientist it would probably chew him up if he did nothing. He believes he knows what groups of genes it may be. He may not have all the machines at his home but he has found contract labs to do the actual sequencing.He may find a major mutation related to the pathway early on, you never know. I'm from a biochemistry background and if this happened to a child of mine I would try to do the same thing.
