tiagoboldt.net— After all the bad documentation I've read, Ive decided to share, step by step, how I've got my new Creative Zen to work under Linux

It is in the repos, but it's compiled using the old libmtp also in the repos! So, if you want to use gnomad2, it's obligatory to compile first the new libmtp. At least if using ubuntu 7.10. I'm not aware what versions are already included in other versions. Ubuntu 8.04 will probably be able to use it without this workaround.
It works on Intrepid. Just that there's no need to compile libmtp and mtpfs from source anymore. It is true tough the MTP device if mounted with mtpfs, it doesn't show up in rhythmbox or banshee.

nice try but it doesn't work. if you want to use your creative zen with Amarok, follow my guide here: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=662567

Try this first:http://gnomad2.sourceforge.net/Chances are you'll find it in your distro's repo.
