Tilt shift would be cooler if it accurately depicted the laws of depth of field instead of being simply linear in nature (e.g. the ubiquitous top/bottom 2D frame blur).Still looks neat, but it's getting worn out just like its HDR counterpart. Time to go back to good ol' fashioned photography I guess, where the person does most of the work while looking through the viewfinder.
