crazyegg.com— Crazy Egg is a program that shows you a visual heatmap of where your users are clicking. It tracks clicks on links, ads, flash and Ajax and more.

As the corunet blog author, I think there's a place for both solutions. There will be developers that'll offer the service and people that would rather pay a monthly fee for it. My intention was to deploy a simple open source solution to the problem, but it's not going to be a silver bullet for everybody.
clickdensity shows you where people click all over the page/browser window. Right now I 'have a weird hotspot where there arent any links or content (even text). I can't figure out why people are clicking there.The service allows you to filter results down to what screen resolution people use with corresponding clicks, so I wonder if it has to do with a point right next to the down scroll arrow or something.
Buying a car for $10,000+ and pumping gas into it for $3.00+/gallon? Why would you want to do that when walking is free? Why would you want to pay for clothes when fig leaves are free?
Hi.. I have added a new test page in crazyegg for which the authentication is required. i have followed the instruction provided by the crazyegg team like make it login if the request comes from sertain IP (of crazyegg). eventhough it is not working fine. can anybody help me in this?here is the logic which i have applie:i think that it loads in an IFRAME so made the coding like this. if(isset($_SERVER['HTTP_REFERER'])){

Sure, there are better and cheaper tools, but it's pretty and intuitive.

The sourceforge code is the revised version of the code in blog.corunet.com. It uses Rmagick and it's about fifty times faster for large log files.

Good luck CrazyEgg.For another interesting "Web 2.0" site monitoring service, check our ClickTale.com - <a class="user" href="http://digg.com/tech_news/Webmasters_Can_Watch_What_Visitors_Do_with_AJAX-based_Service">http://digg.com/tech_news/Webmasters_Can_Watch_What_Visitors_Do_with_AJAX-based_Service</a>

It's an attractive way to present the information, but it doesn't tell you anything new. Web analytics packages have always shown us how many people are clicking on the individual links within our sites (in raw numbers and percentages).It's a lot more interesting to see what people *looked* at: <a class="user" href="http://www.etre.com/blog/2006/05/five_days_five_heatmaps/">http://www.etre.com/blog/2006/05/five_days_five_heatmaps/</a>
