The sad part is they can do what ever they wish with your phone: Turn it on, turn it off, locate it instantly - but for some reason they won't do these things for you. I've lost a phone too and went through this experience.

at least they got some f**king balls. It is about time! I can't believe that they can low level inspect your tcp without a warrant. That is nuts. Hell our judiciary is the branch that is supposed to protect us. We know congress and the executive are the ones that don't do s**t for liberty. The courts should safeguard what little liberty we have left.

Excellent news.Public safety is important, but it needs to be balanced with individual liberty and freedom. It cannot be allowed to become the ultimate criteria for every decision, else the country would be reduced to a lifeless, purposeless machine.If the government can get more power, it will, whether it needs that power or not. Vigilance on the part of the citizenry against power grabs like this is crucial to the existence of a free state.
