prisonplanet.com — A North Carolina couple who were terrorized by a police officer who had recently returned from Iraq are now fighting back, after sheriffs deputy Brian Scarborough broke into their house, assaulted them and then arrested the Kuhns for the crime of flying an upside down U.S. flag.

This couple is correct. I had just planned to blog about this very symbalism, asking patriots nationwide to show our distress signal across the country. This country is in distress, we should all be flying our flags upside down to show it. If anyone has any question about it's symbalism, check the US Military Flag Code. The upside down flag, flown alone, no other flag atop it, is not a sign of disrespect for our flag or our country, IT IS A SIGNAL OF DISTRESS. This action this policeman took against these people seems to me more of the same "dumbing down" of the American people, similar to the horde applauding Giuliani when he verbally attacked Ron Paul in the 2nd debate for telling the truth (although that was also helped along by MSN media who magnified the applause, increasing the volume). Just another example of the "dumbing down" and "the establishments" intended direction for this country...think of America's icon's over the years, does anyone remember Superman? Who stood for "TRUTH, JUSTICE & THE AMERICAN WAY"? What kind icons are kids given today? SpongeBob Squarepants? What does he stand for? A "sponge" living in Bikini Bottom of the sea who proudly proclaims "all he needs is the entertainment section" of the newspaper! No wonder our minds are trashed, it starts real early.

I find it seriously hard to believe that the cop was there because he thought the people living there were in distress and was concerned that the people he met at the door were holding the real inhabitants hostage. He knew darn well that the people he was talking to were the homeowners, and he was pissed as he felt that they were somehow dissing the US government.

Strictly speaking, you're not supposed to EVER show ID! If you're not at the scene of a crime, and police have nothing to charge you with, you should NOT show the police or anyone else anything. You're not livestock, you don't wear a tag, your relationship is with other human beings, not a Social Security number. You don't just give ID to people, especially when that ID is locked-in to all kinds of data about you. Handing someone your ID is the literal equivalent of handing someone your freedom.

What ever happened to cops being totally in the wrong... if a person defends themselves against unjust persecution? i said unjust... not ever day scenarios.

everything this guy did was illegal from the start. it isnt illegal to hang the flag upside-down, so the cop had no right to tell them to remove it. he didnt state why he wanted to see ID, so they didnt have to show any. he was acting outside of the law in everything he did.

sooner or later the tyranny will come to each of us. if we resist, we will defeat it. every time we roll over and take it their power grows.they can't take us all. we have them outnumbered and and we're well armed. they can't use their big guns without destroying their own minions.

The officer was ex-military. Therefore he was trained in combat restraint tactics. He was also a police officer, and therefore trained in law enforcement restraint tactics. There is only one type of restraint known as the 'choke hold' in restraint tactics training. It is reasonable to assume that the choke hold restraint used by this ex-military police officer is the one that he was trained in, and not some form of non-sanctioned grip learned on the street. The term "choke hold" is derived from the act of placing one's forearm in front of a person's neck, interlocking the other behind it, and applying pressure. This cuts off oxygen to the person being restrained. The key to a successful choke-hold is knowing when to let up on the hold so as not to cause brain damage or kill the recipient. In other words, there is no set method of determining just what level of oxygen deprivation will be safe for each individual. This is why it is classified as a lethal restraint.
