I for one want to see someone load up a half dozen 747s with the stuff and try it.

As heartless as this is going to sound, we don't need to be f**king around with Mother Nature like this. Yes, people will die, lose homes, jobs, etc etc but you don't go altering Mother Nature and not expect serious adverse reactions as a result. Unknown reactions at that. Build better structures, levees, dams etc and have better evacuation plans, but leave Mother Nature alone.
