macenstein.com — (Video) The latest Zune ad from ad agency 72andsunny has a very ?Tim Burton/Film Board of Czechoslovakia? feel to it, and I think it is VERY well done. there IS sort of a downtrodden, communist vibe to the Zune ad, but still, kudos to Microsoft for evoking a deep and genuine response from this viewer, even if it IS melancholy and confusing

The song's pretty accurate though. It has one trick, song sharing, and that's it. No other reason to buy it.

Jellygraph, the ad is ok, but it doesn't promote the Zune very well. It's a "Have you heard about Zune?" ad. Not a "This is why you should get a Zune instead of an iPod" ad.In other words, it's going to be forgettable.

I love the ad! I think that most people are failing to understand MS's plan. They know like the rest of the world that they won't beat Apple with the Zune, ever, but if just one person buys a Zune, that's one less customer that Apple gets. The Zune may not be selling like hot cakes, but it is selling, it is nice looking and it has some nicer features than the IPOD. MS will claim a large portion of the MP3 player market and MS would be happy to have only that. If they end up really competing then that's a bonus. Same idea behind the 360, except I think MS really thought they could not only dent Sony, but that they could hurt them and they have. Sure, yes, MS would love to be #1 at everything, but are more than happy to slowly and effectively steal market share.

Why not show a dumbass with white earbuds bumping into things , oblivious to what is going on around them...and then they get mugged ? oh sorry , that was an Apple advert. This isn`t your dad`s Microsoft anymore !
