thinkprogress.org — Both Republican and Democratic lawmakers are upset over a new Government Accountability Office report showing that the ?soaring price of oil will leave the Iraqi government with a cumulative budget surplus of as much as $79 billion by year?s end.? Since 2003, U.S. taxpayers have spent $42 billion for the stabilization and reconstruction of Iraq.

It's unfortunate that the people of Iraq will never see that money

I wish John Cornyn and George Bush had spent the past 8 years implementing policies that would result in a US budget surplus instead of an Iraqi budget surplus. I guess they care more about middle eastern oil barons than they care about hard working American taxpayers.

What makes you say that?

FTA: "BLITZER: Sen. Cornyn, there are a lot of Americans who feel that the Iraqis are playing the U.S. for suckers."Yeah, let me see if I understand you, Wolf... The Iraqis "suckered" the US into bombing their cities flat, killing over a million people, and making millions and millions other Iraqis homeless so they could show a yearly budget surplus. Are you f**king stupid?

Why was there any doubt?

Well Oil prices are no longer soaring so that surplus is going to be a lot less. But nevertheless, we should get some of that reconstruction money back.

JUST f**kING WOW! You invade their nation. f**k up their cities and infrastructure. Kill a million. Displace 4 million and then you want credit for their financial success? Didn't you f**kwits spend 3 trillion on this f**king war on terror already?
