Second grade apps? Well since Corel purchased them they'll probably be left behind a grade or two. Corel writes the buggiest, shoddiest code ever.I cried when they bought JASC.

I heard they got a bunch of money from Microsoft, and promptly ditched all their linux developments.

Ulead Photo Impact is the best hands down.Anyone who has ever used it intently for web graphics would tell you it is loaded with features and puts photoshop to shame when it comes down to actual usability.Without installing 900 plug in's and taking 25 tutorials written in geekspeak like with P.S.,Photo Impact is easy to use and also it has made me my living for 8 years.PSP has always sucked, bottom line.Heres an idea, Post your graphics collection that you designed and let the work speak for itself. I'll play.

I used to use (and still do some) WordPerfect. It seems that was one of the few apps they actually worked pretty good from Corel. I also used Presentations extensively before we later switched to using PowerPoint. Presentations was pretty good (at least for the price). My dad really likes Quattro Pro and still uses it over Excel. I suppose you could use a free office suite like OpenOffice.org but if you feel inclined to buy some software Corel Suite is cheaper than MS office and you can get some pretty good apps like WordPerfect, Presentations, and Quattro Pro.
