ngpowereu.com— As world leaders try and save us from the perils of global warming at the UN Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen, how big is the summit's own carbon footprint?

no it couldn't. Conferences involve more than just the general assembly./this over simplification is stupid. Various pieces of legislation, papers and agreements exchange hands during those conferences, aside from lectures, interviews and panels. Further more each delegation brings a whole team of people. This oversimplification of the whole thing is retarded and unpractical . I am sure that even if they did use webcams idiots would still complain of the energy usage.
So long story short, a bunch of bureaucrats spew massive amounts of carbon into the atmosphere in order to go to a conference whose sole purpose is to condemn the act of spewing massive amounts of carbon into the atmosphere. To humans with the ability to think for themselves... that's called hypocrisy.Yes people would be drinking tea at home, but they wouldn't be using 140+ private jets to fly across the globe. At least they'll come away from the conference with some good, concrete action to save the world right? LOL!Here's a novel idea... video conference. You'd think a tech savvy, Blackberry toting, messiah would be smart enough to use a video conference system. Since Obama is stepping on and crushing the throats of small businesses here at home, that's the only kind of conference my company can afford anymore. Pretty simple to set up and use even for a non-Blackberry toting, peon like myself.I guess living the life of a bureaucrat, looking down from their ivory tower, trumps saving the world for the rest of us.
If these are cutting edge scientists, and given the fact that the technology for teleconferences is well advanced, why did they not just sit at home in front of their computer and share their information? This is what many major corporations are doing to same time and $$. I believe it would have set a good example and sent a strong message if they did as well.Too many egos involved.
f**k the CO2 emission. The monnies! Denmark will be spending a lot of dough during this not to mention that it has given the police an excuse to finally get a water canon to spray demonstrants all over the pavement with and the fact that police now with not reason at all can arrest people when they feel like it and hold you in cages./rage

Does the "carbon"ation in my soda do bad for the environment? Because honestly, I'll walk to work but I'd like to keep drinking my coke!
