rawstory.com — MSNBC's Rachel Maddow expressed amazement at the sweeping victory that is being handed to President Bush on FISA. "I'm betting that his wildest dreams did not include the prospect that Congress -- a Democratic-led Congress -- would help him cover up his crimes," she stated. "That is exactly what the US Senate is poised to do."

This gift to President Bush and his gang of thug eavesdroppers is utterly and absolutely disgusting. Every Senator took an oath to defend and uphold the Constitution, and those that are not doing it today should be removed from office.

The complete ignorance of the FISA provision is astounding. They have only been wiretapping calls going to suspected terror cells. Burying this for black helicopter style hysteria.

I don't understand. If this law is really unconstitutional, won't it be thrown out by the supreme court?

Go check Barr out. He's polling at 6% and climbing (faster now with BS like this passing)http://www.BobBarr2008.com for president for your freedom, for your privacy

So, your best pro-Paul argument is that he's not as bad as bush? Raise your standards a little. And why go 50 years back? 10 to 19 years back the USA was the undisputed hegemond, following the cold war. The events and actions during/of one presidency tossed that out the window, but not-as-bad-as-bush is a low, low place to start.

Scary scary stuff. Obama and McCain BOTH support FISA. Bob Barr does not. If you want a bigger, more intrusive government then a vote for Obama or McCain is the right thing to do but please remember that there have been some pretty nasty regimes in the past that have taken away people's rights. If you want real freedom and a smaller government then a vote for Bob Barr is the real voice of change. Government is NOT the answer...it is the problem!!http://www.bobbarr2008.com/

[REPEAT POST] From the page: "Nobody wants to have a confrontation over the fact that the President committed a felony -- not one, but at least 30 times. That's a very inconvenient fact right now in Washington" - law professor Jonathan Turley ... not so much inconvenient, as both unethical and criminal -- the only correction for what would perhaps be the largest oversight in our nation's history, would come in 2009 when the next batch of U.S. Attorneys get shuffled into the Department of Justice ... they'll have their work cut out for them, and it will be then that I will look forward to the criminal prosecution of George Bush, Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld, Karl Rove, and several other high ranking executive branch members ...
