I used to work with autistic children, it would be pretty hard to fake what *most* of those kids are doing. First off, he's obviously talking about high functioning individuals, but even among them I bet you could beat them within an inch of their life and they still wouldn't be able to modify their behaviors this guy calls "acting like a putz" (I'm not advocating that anyone try it). Besides, I defy you to find a kid who *wants* to be in SPED classes.

You got to admit though, on several things he is spot on.

First you'd have to locate a region of his pea-sized brain that is not already damaged beyond repair. That would be really, really hard. I'm all for giving it the ol' college try though!

As a parent of an autistic child, I must respectfully tell you that you are ignorant. Autism is a well defined set of four pervasive developmental issues (in fact, the mild end of the spectrum is labeled PDD). They are:* Receptive language delay - the child has problems understanding language directed at him* Expressive language delay - the child has problems forming language* Fine motor skill delay - the child has problems with fine motor skills such as writing* Social integration delay - the child has problems fitting in with other kids and acts "weird"In addition to these delays, an autistic kid may have:* Processing problems - problems with bright lights, loud noises, strong smells, strong tastes, and touch* Self-stimming - they will manipulate common objects in repetitive ways for long periods of timeStudies have shown that people with autism have marked differences in the physical makeup of their brains. So, I guess if the child exhibits the above combination of symptoms, a doctor may be quick to diagnose them on the spectrum. However, that would probably be appropriate.

Once again you lefties deliberately take something out of context just to smear the character of someone who does not believe what you do. At least I'm hoping it is deliberate, because I can't imagine you are THAT stupid. I prefer to regard you as just vicious and immoral. http://www.savageonautism.com/

Half of you ignorant f**kS don't even listen to his show. There is a thing called context. Look it up, I don't have time to explain it to a bunch of anti-American liberals. His BROTHER WAS AUTISTIC for God's sake! Most of you don't even come into contact with an autistic child.By the way, what is the definition of autism. TRICK QUESTION: there is no such thing. Such ignorance...

My daughter has autism -She's 12 now and is considered high functioning. One of the largest problems we have is with emotive language - she talks like a little college professor. Even though she is high functioning, you can't spend 10 mins. alone with her and not realize her diagnosis.
