dailyfinance.com — BP Chief Executive Tony Hayward, whose infuriating comments about the Gulf oil spill have damaged the company's brand for years, should return at least part of the 4.01 million pounds ($5.92 million) in salary, cash bonus and share awards he received in 2009. He also should take no salary and bonus this year.

yes, after losing his shame and credibility and has become a world leopard to which not even his own wife and kids would dare be seen in public with him, I would say he'd give a damn.

It wasn't necessarily his PERSONAL fault. On the flip side his shareholders and the Board of Directors would be wise to dump him and demand repayment of any bonuses he was given. I haven't heard what the British gov't is doing in the form of punishment for BP. Can any Brits out speak up on that?

To me the Wall Street meltdown was much worse. Not that this isn't awful. No one was fired, no pay attached, no $20 billion fund to cover loses, the board of directors of those companies are still there. To me if your going to call for this kind of action, back up, we had the real manmade disaster and no person or company has been held to any standard, much less this one. Is this because those Wall Street guys, did all the right things? Or are they just American and rich?

The company BP is not ONE man. People need to get a grip on reality. I am pissed, but each of us is just as much at fault.... you drive heat your house and live in a world where oil is needed. BP is filling our needs. So everyone in the world should give up a years pay.....just stupid!

The people on the rig caused it because they were following the orders of Tony Hayward to not follow safety procedures in an attempt to save a couple hundred thousand dollars...

People venting and saying such things on a messageboard forum is not the same thing as actually doing it. Plus, the witchhunts weren't the product of just a few deranged people, and there wasn't just one witch target. Many people lost their lives to them.In short, there is absolutely no comparison.
