Another point that hasn't really been stated. As a cable operator I can honestly say, the top 5% of your users consume over 95% of the bandwidth. It causes major saturation for the average user.

the thing is Bandwidth should be getting cheaper .. not more expensive but we'll see no price decrease.... bandwidth in itself is created by the cable/internet providers to bottleneck and create more expensive brackets

No it did not. You may be thinking of the telco companies.

If we are to be competitive in the world's economy, we must look beyond such user limiters and strive to expand our capabilities ... its hard to find a single positive category in which the United States is in the top10 anymore, let alone the world leader, and this is something we could do, if we just focus our efforts ...

I don't think it is right to put on a cap.

Actually it's the idiot socialists that will be letting net neutrality go so they can control it. The Republicans were idiots in starting what liberals are best at - control. If they charge more and you can't afford it, who'll pay for it? If left to the free market, they'll fill the need. That's proven, whereas that commune idea, didn't work to well.

ppl whining about "free market" are clueless. There is only "free market" for those CORPS with $Billions to spend getting special legislation passed to CREATE and MAINTAIN "barriers to entry" whereby the BIG CORPS secure MONOPOLY CONTROL and then proceed on toward PRICE GOUGING. Why should we have to pay $50 - $100 /month to use cellphones which transmit over PUBLIC AIRSPACE ?? One reason: because of legislations passed due to $$ Big Corp Bucks $$.How do we fight back against this? By GETTING A CLUE that this IS "the free market" .. we are free to COMPEL OUR LEGISLATORS to regulate communications in such ways that they are not priced out of reach of WE THE PEOPLE.

Im just laughing at the fact that i kno someone out there TRUELY believes that u can flush a fiber-optic cable down the toilet and have internet, and for free at that

Coming back to Aus from London, I was shocked to see there are NO unlimited data plans anywhere. And its so expensive! I pay $60/month for a 10Gig download plan on ADSL 2+ (all I can afford now). I typically get speeds of 150K/sec max. That is s**t. And after Rudd spends another $46 Billion of our money we are still only going to have Fiber to the node. WTF? GTFO Rudd!
