video.google.com— Tramm Hudson, running to replace Katherine Harris, just shoots himself in the foot with the use of some clearly wrong racial stereotypes.

According to http://www.usoc.org/132_47632.htm :"In a Centers for Disease Control and Prevention survey published in 2003, 62 percent of black respondents said they had limited swimming skills compared to 32 percent of white respondents."Just because he is talking about race doesn't make him racist. It just so happens that there are a lot more black people who live in urban or poor neighborhoods and don't have access to pools to learn how to swim. It's not racist, it's the sad truth.
racism is any kind of prejudice on a race.calling asians smart is racism, although some would say it is "positive" prejudice.Anyway, prejudice/bias of any kind is not appropriate in politics.
Link information is incorrect -- Tramm Hudson hasn't joined Congress yet. He has to win the primary to replace Katherine Harris before he can even claim the Republican nomination.
He is ignorant for the mere fact of not knowing any better. He just lost probably every minority vote imaginable. Which might now pit him in the minority voting constituency for sure. His future political career is limited to say the least.
This is a good example of people seeing what they want to and not what is. To anyone that has been in the military this shouldn't seem all that odd, not in that he is making a judgment about blacks in general but a high percentage of blacks in his company (the military in general) either can't swim or don't swim well due to lack of experience not genetics as people are so quick to jump on. This is the sort of thing you need to know about your soldiers when it comes down to swim time; the concern is quite valid. I didn't see him standing in uniform so I don't see a problem with using shades other than green to describe portions of a company. He was not being derogatory, his statements were not inconsiderate, I'm just not seeing a problem here.If most of the white people couldn't swim well would this have even made it on youtube?

Seventy-five percent were male, 47% were Black, 33% were White, and 12% were Hispanic."
