I know how much Obama hates US "imperialism" and I was hoping MAYBE one good thing he might do is slash the f**k out of our World Police Force. And just like everything else he is a big disappointment.I would immediately cut a nice chunk and slowly work down to about 25% of our current levels.MORE than enough to keep our nation perfectly safe - not enough to provide free World Police service for the UN or Big Oil. Perfect.
@NoLibertarians I don't think you're active in anything but Ron Paul bashing on Digg all day, everyday, every week and year. And that PhD in economics? Come on now Pops... Don't try to scam us Biff!! If you had a PhD I don't think you'd be rolling around in cash from "selling merchandise" while spending an ungodly amount of time on Digg talking down to people who probably do have advanced degrees in fields you know nothing about. I'm going to expose you as some looser ex-marine in Houston sitting around on Digg all day under the illusion you're "teaching these young whipper snappers something about the Baby-Boom generation" Pathetic (but interesting)I've got my eye on you! ;)
Not really. It IS doable.Look at it this way-- with all the tax breaks and credits people at varying income levels (e.g. quintiles say) pay an "effective tax". So let's say you make 100k, with all the typical exemptions, deductions and credits you end up paying 20%. Just make it 20% at that level and be done with it.Now, the big problem with a flat tax is that all the behaviors that are incented won't necessarily happen. Yeah, people will still buy houses, but other things won't necessarily apply. And of course, they won't make it a flat tax across the board, they've GOT to give exemptions for some things (like we won't tax you on x amount of your income b/c that goes towards necessities like food, clothing, housing, etc.)

Or quit spending so much, and taxes won't even be needed. Just an idea...

Who really cares about how many digg/buries one gets? Read comments with an open mind.
