thedailygreen.com — Congress is getting close to passing an energy bill that contains a little-known provision designed to phase out the 125-year-old incandescent light bulb in the next four to 12 years. Instead the future will be lit with next generation energy-efficient lighting.

@staticthunderOf course not all by himself. It could work more like a class action lawsuit. History has shown that government is not people looking after each other but people who want power or something else of the sort, are willing to use coercive force to get it and want to at least look legitimate unlike a gang. Think of the government like a corporation that collects its money at the point of a gun and then as its products sends gun toting maniacs around the city. Do you want to give this corporation control of the market place. I think a large portion of the time you confuse capitalism with mercantilism. They look similar but they are radically different. Mercantilism is when the government helps companies in exchange for the companies giving a duty of allegance to the government. The reason walmart does so well is because its product are cheap and fast to get. As the old axiom goes, Cheap fast good, you can have any two of the three. Watch the penn & teller bulls**t episode on walmart hate. Its probably online somewhere.Another thing a free market is not necessarily capitalism. If you can get people to voluntarily agree to your idea of an economic system with all these rules then it is fine in a free market

@staticthunderI agree that it should be cheaper to get justice in the legal system. Changes should be made to the legal process to ensure this.

That's just an excuse to steal someones land from them. Not a good one. Owning land is far from being a burden on society. Those on welfare that do not own land or are homeless are usually the larger burdens on society. Should we steal from them also? Or just steal from those that own land?
