gizmodo.com — Apple's confirmed that their email app on the iPhone will have PDF, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel support. Seems like it's just read-only as far as we can see, but it addresses one of the main complaints Microsoft had.

Yes - It will open a .doc or .xls in Google Docs and Sheets, or show it to you as a HTML page. Not that surprising that the iPhone will support .doc & .xls, Seeing as a lot of other smart phones do it makes sense.
