theliberalheretic.com — Are right wingers gaming Digg? Violating the TOS? You bet! Says one, "Since I usually try to be as offensive as possible, it doesn?t bother me that I get banned...I?ve probably been through 400-500 Digg IDs."

"any one that goes to troops funerals and says that God killed the troops because of Homosexuality...is NO follower of Christ."What about people who blame homosexuals for other terrible things? Maybe they haven't picked one particular, nonsensical thing to focus on, but there are certainly more self-proclaimed Christians than just Phelps who blame homosexuals for things like natural disasters and even what they see as the eventual downfall of the country. They may not purposefully bring pain into the lives of individual people, which is certainly better than what Phelps does, but similar thinking is there nonetheless. "Instead of bashing ALL Christians, how about just challenging those that are NOT followers of Christ?"I think you'll find that among atheists, whether or not someone is a True Christian is not really very important. I have no mechanism by which I can judge whether someone's religious faith measures up. Certainly plenty of Christians think they do, but judging by the amount of finger pointing that goes on, those judgments could probably be used to rediscover the various sects of Christianity through a graph based algorithm. I don't really care what Phelps says he believes. I care about the things he does that have an impact on other people. Phelps is usually brought up when people make generalizations about Christians being uniformly wonderful people, and the no true scotsman fallacy almost always follows. If you think you can determine whether a person is a true Christian from his behavior, tell me whether the following actions disqualify a person from being a true Christian:- Murder- Drunk driving that results in an accident.- Drunk driving that does not result in an accident.- Swindling someone out of their life's savings.- Swindling someone out of $1000.- Stealing a candy bar.- Doing any of these things once vs. doing them multiple times You might say that repentance makes a difference. So, does it matter whether the person feels sorry right after, a week after, or twenty years after? If it's been a few years and the person still isn't sorry, is it safe to say he's not a Christian? If he then does feel repentant, does that mean you did not have adequate information to judge before?
