Apparently you have never seen HDTV. It looks amazing. I'm gonna go watch King Kong on HDDVD while you play your Atari Jaguar via coax.

what kind of moron buys an HDTV that cant do any kind of progressive scan in order to save money? Did you save some cash on your car by only buying 3 wheels?

It's pretty sad that a lot of people who have a standard TV think that composite is just fine. Even with a standard TV, component will help the picture greatly. The colors become true and the image becomes much much sharper. I personally cannot stand composite, and since I use component I can pretty much look at a tv and tell you what kind of input it's using.

I dont see how it can look that s**ty. I have a brand new Sony 50" rear projection HDTV and my gamecube looks hot on it! All I have is composite, b/c i wanted to wait for the Wii till i get the component since they dont work on both. Smash, RE4, Mario ect all look awsome. I think people are being way to picky about the graphics, when the Wii isnt about graphics anyways.

but haven't met the wii yet, are you sure it's true love, or just lust? I suggest spending some time with it to get to know it better, and see if you are meant for each other.

If I buy a component cable for wii and I buy a component->DVI converter, when I hook it up to my 17" digital LCD, what can I expect? Will I be able to run 480p, or will wii not recognize the option through the conversion?
