Isn't the launch tomorrow? Because if so, this is probably the most underhyped launch ever. I can't find any info on this s**t other than this article and the fact that it's supposedly coming out tomorrow. No leaked firmware, no nothing, like wtf.

The only thing I'd like to know is this... Does it support Unicode??? Though I praise Microsoft for allowing the Zune 1 to be as functional as the Zune 2, I hate the fact that they can't even include 3 files to support Unicode on the Zune 1. It would disappoint me more if its not on the Zune 2. I don't want to have to hack the Zune to add it in when it should be there anyway.

As I sit here with my Zune 30 w/ 2.1 Firmware in hand, I can confirm positively that it does have EQ options. Settings -> Music -> Equalizer:

vlc player.yes many irivers support ogg. Rio karma which is out of production was an audiophile dream. many players support ogg though their not the most popular like an ipod or zune.

a reg hack, that only temporarily works while you keep sync going barely qualifies. Especially since it hardly even works, locking files and folders for example.

From what I can tell, it doesn't really "integrate" per se (no more than a regular media player, at least). The big thing is that the software can now handle DVR-MS files, so if you use a media center PC to record your shows, you can sync em to your zune.

Winamp, itunes, and even windows media player will play ogg/vorbis as well with the right codecs installed. As for portable players that support it, there are plenty:http://wiki.xiph.org/index.php/PortablePlayersI own one of the iRivers and 2/3 of the music on it is either OGG/Vorbis or FLAC (with Rockbox installed for the FLAC).

Most of the iPods play OGG/Vorbis (and may other additional formats) if you are willing to install Rockbox. Not native support, no, but it works. As for the Zune, if it wasn't for the DRM on the firmware flashing then it could run Rockbox too.
